Not that we’re counting or anything, but is only 27 days and a few hours away, which means it’s time to get into the spirit ASAP. Now, this doesn’t mean going crazy with house lights. You also don’t have to go buying the to prep for the holidays either, although that would be super awesome. It can require very little to no effort to feel all tingly with Christmas excitement, like making obnoxiously long gift lists or dressing up our cats like reindeer. Come on, you know we can’t get through the holidays without embarrassing our pets.

'Twas the day before Christmas and all through the yard the Cat in the Hat and his guests partied hard. When the party was over, and the guests all departed one poor baby reindeer was left broken-hearted! Can the Cat in the Hat, Sally, Nick and the Fish help make come true little Ralph's Christmas wish? To be with his family, in far-off Freeze-Your-Knees. Will you help see him home? Come be our guests, please! Written by Nick and Sally can't find their sled that's buried under the snow. Cat's friend Magnus the reindeer is great at finding things in the snow. Off they go to the Jingly Bell Forest where Magnus shows them how he digs with his feet and shovels snow with his antlers. And when Nick and Sally find Magnus's old antlers, they can shovel snow too and find their sled!'Twas the day before Christmas and all through the yard the Cat in the Hat (Martin Short) and his guests partied hard. When the party was over, and the guests all departed one poor baby reindeer was left broken-hearted!
My first instinct is to give this a 3 or 4 because it just really is not all that entertaining, the songs are alright but forgettable, and Martin Short is a fairly annoying voice to play the Cat. This will not become a regular Christmas special in my home, and probably not anywhere else.
So why the higher rating of 5? Simply because I recently saw "The Legend of Frosty the Snowman" with Burt Reynolds, and that was far worse. In fact, it may be the worst Christmas special ever made. So, in comparison, this one comes off looking not half bad. Nothing great, but not the tragic mess that "Frosty" is.On-air special: Sure to be a holiday favorite for the entire family for years to come, this adventure finds the Cat in the Hat, Nick and Sally on a journey around the world to help a lost reindeer find his way home to Freezeyourknees Snowland in time for Christmas. On the way, the Thinga-ma-jigger breaks down, and they depend on a variety of animals – from African bush elephants to bottlenose dolphins to red crabs – and their remarkable abilities to help them make an amazing journey home.
