A non-profit, no-kill cat rescue and adoption agency for the Greater Kansas City area.
The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City celebrates over 100 years of faithful service to the lost, abandoned, and broken pets of the Greater Kansas City area. Our mission is to save and improve the lives of dogs and cats throughout the Greater Kansas City community by providing preventive veterinary care and spay/neuter services, education and adoptions. In 1994 we became the first no-kill shelter in the KC area, taking in many pets who are sick or injured and need medical care. Our low-cost spay/neuter and preventive veterinary care clinic saves and improves the lives of thousands of animals every year. We provide much needed care and services for the animals in our community-- our work is never done. We cannot accomplish what we do without you!
Our partnership with Kansas City, KS Animal Control saves and improves the lives of dogs and cats at the city shelter. Our veterinary staff provides the medical care for pets at the KCKAC shelter. Pets who are seriously sick or injured are transferred to us for more extensive lifesaving care. Every weekend, our volunteers conduct satellite adoption events with KCKAC pets at the PetSmart in Olathe, dramatically increasing the number of adoptions for the city shelter...

The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is a private non-profit organization that has been helping animals in our community since 1912. We strive to promote the general welfare of dogs and cats in the greater Kansas City area. We do this by providing education, preventive veterinary care, adoptions, and spay/neuter services to prevent pet overpopulation.Paws Crossed is a section 501(c)3 no kill foster-based rescue group based in the Kansas City, Missouri and Johnson County, Kansas metro areas. We are dedicated to rescuing pets left homeless, in high euthanasia shelters, and those in danger of abuse and neglect. We assist pets without regard to age, breed or ease of placement to the extent our finances allow, with the pets in greatest need taking priority. Animals in our care are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and provided additional veterinary care as needed. Our animals are placed in foster homes where they wait for placement in a permanent home. Paws Crossed, Inc. strives to place pets in loving and committed permanent homes through a comprehensive adoption process which includes educating prospective adopters about costs and responsibilities associated with bringing a new pet into their home as well as finding a good match for both the pet and the families.
