World's Best Cat Litter Advanced Natural High Performance Clumping Formula
Historically, non-clay litters were often passed over by consumers due in large part to these products perceived inability to properly clump. Supanich emphasizes that SmartCat All Natural Clumping Litter was in development for more than two years to ensure a natural, clumping product that combines one of the best features of traditional litter with a fresh, natural formula.
Clumping is one of the most important factors in a good litter. You want solid clumps to make scooping easier. If the clumps break apart, you wind-up changing the entire contents of the box more often and scooping is just a pain. Arm & Hammer and Nature’s Miracle performed similarly, with only semi-hard clumping. You can see in the images above that both fell apart when scooped. WBCL had the best clumping ability, with solid, easily scoopable clumps. Swheat Scoop had the worst performance with clumps that fell apart into small pieces, making it very difficult to scoop. Note: I performed these tests with the regular Swheat Scoop. There is a multi-cat strength formula that claims to clump faster and firmer. It may have better results.

Biodegradable cat litters are becoming increasingly popular as they have their own unique advantages. For one, they are an ideal flushable cat litter; even clumping biodegradable cat litters don't contain the clumping agents used in clay litter, and hence will not clog your plumbing system the way that clay products can. They can also be recycled or composted because they're biodegradable and won't sit in a landfill for decades. Biodegradable cat litter can be made from a variety of un-litter-like substances, including wheat, corn, walnut shells, dried wood, grass or even recycled newspapers. One caveat is that some cats may not take to the larger-sized pellets found in many of these natural litters, as reviewers say they tend to prefer the fine, sand-like texture of clay litter. Also, if you're planning to switch from a clay litter to a biodegradable solution, it may be best to start off with a small bag first; cats are creatures of habit and may not appreciate you switching litters. The ultimate clumping cat litter is called Integrity. It is bar none, the best clumping litter out there. I will say it's expensive to purchase, but saves money in the long run. There is very litter that's actually wasted since it doesn't crumble. I rarely have to put a fresh layer of Integrity cat litter over the existing litter because what remains is still so clean. Unfortunately, it's not readily available, in fact it can be quite hard to find. Check with your natural pet food store.Ever heard of a flushable kitty litter? This one comes as a surprise. It’s just amazing. Also known as Corn cat litter, it comes with a natural smell of corn that’ll make your cat love it the more. The natural smell will also put off any odor so your guests won’t have to upturn their noses. Again, Corn Cat Litter is not dusty and clumps better than other litters. The poop does not stick on the cat’s paw so you won’t get it in your house. The best thing about it is that it is flushable. You just have to scoop and flush. My next choice is: Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter. It's organic, flushable, biodegradable, and worth the cost as a little goes a long way. Some recommend spraying a little vegetable or cooking oil (I use organic olive oil) onto the bottom and sides of the pan to disallow the litter from adhering to the sides and bottom. It doesn't do as good of a job clumping the litter as World's Best Cat Litter, however. So, it doesn't provide the same level of odor control, in my opinion. It's still an excellent litter, and better at clumping than most clay-based scoopable cat litter.
